Based out of our BID Group US office in St. George, SC, the Drafting Technician will report to the Engineering Manager and be responsible for aiding in the development of projects in accordance with the Company’s Standards, specifications and guidelines

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Supports Cost Estimation group, with construction drawings, (up to date Google Earth background images) and layouts with material quantities needed for projects.
• Consults with multiple departments to solve customer and building completion issues. This will include; Supply, Erection, Electrical, Concrete, and Specialized Departments.
• Produce drawings using computer-assisted programs (CAD).
• Assist with plans necessary in acquiring building permits and ensuring plans are developed in accordance with ADA Requirements, applicable Building Codes, etc..
• Draft plans and detailed drawings for grading, structures, concrete, and other departments as needed.
• Work with Management to change Schematics rapidly to meet Customer demands.
• Draw maps, diagrams, and profiles, using cross-sections and surveys to represent subsurface formations, topographical contours, and structures.
• Ability to sort through complex data and determine individual costs.
• Perform all other duties assigned.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Associates Degree in Construction Drafting, Construction Planning, or Civil Engineering Technology.
• Be honest, professional, able to work autonomously as needed, and understand attention to detail.
• Must have excellent communication skills, the ability to function under pressure, and teamwork skills.
• Knowledge in AutoCad is essential and SolidWorks systems a plus.
• Ability to utilize drafting and financial analysis software.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $28.00 per hour

• AutoCAD: 3 years (Preferred)
