Location: Madison, WI

Supervision: No direct supervisory responsibility

About the Role:
As an Auditor/Receiver, you will have the opportunity to support our retail operations by receiving and inspecting products, reviewing and entering invoices, and maintaining product data in our Point of Sale system.

What Youll Do:
You will lead the efforts to receive, check in, and route deliveries while following proper food storage and handling procedures. Youll help with maintaining the accuracy of all product related data in our Point of Sale system. Additional specific duties are outlined below.

Receiving Responsibilities:

  • Act as point person for all delivery drivers; check in deliveries, review products for quality and invoices for accuracy

  • Hold vendors accountable to WGSC receiving standards, refusing deliveries if necessary.

  • Page other departments to receiving when appropriate

  • Separate and divert deliveries to correct storage areas

  • Document all delivery issues on the product invoice or delivery manifest

  • Communicate delivery issues and invoice errors to the appropriate departments

  • Record all deliveries in the receiving log

  • Properly sort, file, and route invoices and other receiving related paperwork to the proper site or storage area

  • Operate the cardboard baler and help create cardboard bales

  • Move items using manual product moving equipment including pallet jacks, two-wheelers, carts, and u-boats

  • Maintain OSHA pallet stacker certification

  • Stack pallets using a pallet stacker as needed

  • Maintain a clean and organized dock and receiving room

  • Follow proper lifting and handling procedures to ensure personal health and safety

Product Data Responsibilities:

  • Enter invoices and product transfers into the POS system; updating quantities, costs, and other related product information as necessary

  • Print shelf tags, sales signs, and other product signage when requested or as needed

  • Perform floor audits to verify the accuracy of any product-related information.

  • Troubleshoot and correct problems with product data in the POS system as assigned

  • Review, enter, audit, or update any product related information in the POS system as assigned

  • Communicate product data or technical issues to the Logistics, Product, IT and Purchasing teams when necessary

Physical Inventory Responsibilities:

  • Assist with inventory counts as needed

  • Audit inventory service counts for accuracy

  • Enter inventory manual count sheets into the POS system

Other Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and respond to relevant department emails ,chat messages, and any other communications within established time frames

  • Abide by all co-op policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook and other company documents

  • Perform all other duties as assigned by a supervisor

Nice-to-Haves:
Its a bonus if you have one or more of the following:

  • Previous experience or knowledge in product data maintenance and/or receiving

  • Previous experience working in a co-operative environment

Physical Requirements:

  • Standing, walking, bending, and reaching

  • Using hands or fingers to handle or feel

  • Specific vision ability: close vision, peripheral vision, color vision, depth perception and adjust to focus

  • Must be able to lift 60 pounds

Work Environment: Fast paced retail environment with food service equipment and coolers and in cold/hot working conditions (i.e. cooler or near heated surfaces). Other high to moderate noise including but not limited to computers, cash registers, paging, telephones, music and human voices.
