Job description
- Minnesota License in Audiology required
- Experience in education preferred, but not required
- Must be able to work in team decision-making situations
- Must have the ability to communicate test results both in writing and verbally
- Ability to consult with professionals, educators, and parents regarding hearing loss and appropriate academic classroom placement
- Travel among the HVED member school districts required.
- Conduct examinations to diagnose ailments and administer treatment
- Guide students and families through the process of diagnostic testing, selection, fitting, and purchasing of hearing instruments according to your patient’s lifestyle and level of hearing loss
- Provide input and assist with hearing screening procedures and with hearing testing services, according to ASHA standards
- Assist IEP teams in problem-solving and creating plans to meet student needs
- Monitor effectiveness of and keep amplification equipment in repair
- Monitor classroom acoustics
- Must be able to stand and/or sit for long periods of time throughout the day when required
