Job Summary: This is a full-time, regular position, with defined in-person office hours, supporting the Chief Operations Officer in the day-to-day origination, assignment, review, and negotiations for acquisition and sale for multiple simultaneous national credit tenant projects in several different States. The incumbent will close several contracts per month. This position will manage one or more Legal Assistants.

Requirements:

Essential Duties:

  • Abide by all Company and government policies, safety rules, regulations, and laws, and ensure employees abide by the same. Responsible for the daily participation in the safety program.
  • Regularly draft, review, manage, handle, and be the point of contact for Purchase and Sales Agreements (PSA’s), acquisition contracts, development contracts, due diligence work, and other real estate transactions using computer software, ensuring accuracy in data, formatting, and grammar. Will routinely provide and update development team in real-time to ensure constant progression of projects assigned.
  • Regularly represent the company in negotiating commercial transactions, to include, but not limited to, title review, closings, dispositions, sales, landlord-tenant disputes, commercial leasing, and purchases.
  • Regularly uses telephones and computers to call and email customers, contractors, managers, real estate professionals, and other agents to request proposals, invoices, contracts, and other construction, development, and legal documents.
  • Regularly uses copy, scanning equipment, electronic folders, and databases to create project folders, store, file, and track all contracts, transactions, agreements, and other project documents.
  • Regularly will train, assign, direct, and mentor subordinate(s) with the goal of growing the person professionally in skills, experience, and education to increase retention and employee engagement. Will make hiring and firing decisions in partnership with HR and senior management.

Job Requirements:

  • Must be a graduate of an accredited school of law with a Juris Doctorate degree.
  • Must have an active Florida Bar license in good standing.
  • Demonstrable ability and experience coordinating and executing projects or contracts under short deadlines, and with a strong attention to detail and a verifiable history of successful customer service.
  • Must speak, read, and write in English to customers, using strong verbal and written communication skills, including interpersonal communication and team development.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, with intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and search engines. Experience with electronic database software or systems is desirable.

Physical Requirements:

  • 95% of the time, incumbents may sit for long periods of time in an environmentally controlled environment, typing on a keyboard, looking at a monitor, writing manual reports and/or typing electronic reports, reading fine print, talking with customers in person or over an electronic device, and performing repetitive motions such as, but not limited to, bending over drafting tables, turning or separating individual pages or sheets of paper, and carrying rolled or loose drafting plans or project files up to 20 lbs.
  • Incumbents may occasionally interact with angry or hostile customers or manage other stressful situations under time constraints and deadlines.
  • 5% of the time, incumbents may travel to and physically inspect active construction sites, exposed to unlevel ground, overhead dangers, heavy machinery, loud noise, dust and other airborne particles or vapors, and may be exposed to rapidly changing environmental conditions such as extreme temperatures and elements, while wearing safety equipment including, but not limited to, safety footwear, eyewear, headwear, and ear protection.
