JOB TITLE:
Asst Director of Activities

JOB PURPOSE:
Provide leadership for the staff, students, volunteers, programs and services of Student Orgs and Entertainment Office (programming board, student orgs, and fraternity/sorority life), which is a part of the Center for Student Involvement & Leadership (CSIL). In collaboration with colleagues across campus, this position will also assist with campus-wide programs such as Union Fest, Homecoming, welcome week (Saddle Up), and other large-scale activities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervise, advocate, support, and administer the financial, programmatic, and personnel functions of the Student Orgs and Entertainment office, which includes 7220 Entertainment, Student Organizations, and Fraternity and Sorority Life;

Administer human resource functions for designated areas within CSIL, including supervision, training, development of full-time staff. Oversee compliance with university, state and federal regulations and employment practices;

Direct, coordinate, supervise and participate in major programming initiatives for the University; negotiate and monitor contracts; create and implement services to enhance the development and success of students involved/participating in designated areas;

Manage and support fraternity/sorority community operations such as safety and wellness efforts, advising fraternal standards board, FSL housing, and chapter or council advising as necessary; encourage and promote campus involvement and leadership opportunities;

Develop and execute assessment of programs and initiatives that originate within scope;

Navigate, interpret, and propose changes to University Regulations that pertain to student organizations, student programming board, and fraternity & sororities;

Participate in CSIL and Wyoming Union policy development or revision, strategic planning, and decision-making; coordinate the development and operation of designated areas; develop operating plans and procedures for designated areas;

Perform other duties as assigned.

SUPPLEMENTAL FUNCTIONS:
Assess and evaluate programming and services needs and recommend enhancements, changes, or new programs. Provide data and assessments on the success of respective areas. Write articles and papers.

Serve on department, division, or University committees, as assigned. Assist with special projects as assigned. Enhance customer relations through the Wyoming Union. Participate in performance-related goal setting and achievement to meet personal and organizational goals and objectives. Attend and participate in training and other professional development activities.

REMOTE WORK ELIGIBILITY:
This position provides vital support to campus customers and requires the successful candidate be available to work on campus.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Master’s degree in College Student Personnel, Counseling, Higher Education Administrative, or a related field

Experience: 3 years work-related experience post graduate studies

Required licensure, certification, registration or other requirements: Valid driver's license with a motor vehicle record (MVR) that is compliant with the

University Vehicle Use Policy

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Functional area experience in Campus Activities, Fraternity and Sorority Life, or Student Unions.

Two-years experience supervising full-time staff.
