HOLT PUBLIC SCHOOLS - PRESCHOOL ASSOCIATE TEACHER

Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP)

8:00 AM-4:30 PM, M-F

$13.94/hour

Holt Public Schools is located in the Lansing metropolitan region. It is primarily located in Ingham County with portions in Eaton County. We provide educational programs from Early Childhood through and beyond 12thgrade including access to Early College programming and Career and Technical Education. Our current enrollment totals approximately 5,250 students. Our student body is approximately 40% persons of color with significant ethnic diversity and representation from historically marginalized groups. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A Child Development Associate Credential (CDA); or
  • An Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience working with preschool-age children.

STAFF RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide a safe environment for children.
  • Provide/direct activities designed to enhance the physical, intellectual, social, emotional, and developmental needs of children.
  • Provide/direct activities that enhance and encourage development of the children’s individual interests and talents.
  • Provide a comfortable and relaxed environment where children feel welcome and secure.
  • Assist in preparation of snack.
  • Supervise assigned children.
  • Follow discipline policy.
  • Attend all required staff meetings and professional development.
  • Follow all school district, state child care licensing and Great Start Readiness Program requirements.
  • Participate fully in curriculum planning and implementation, child assessment and parent engagement through home visits, conferences and parent meetings.
  • Take anecdotal records, input data into computer assessment system and use them to develop instructional strategies for children.
  • Staff may be required to lift young children on occasion, weighing up to 80 pounds.
