The North America Component Manager (NACM) is responsible for gathering information and processing requests for component qualifications and component changes, including shortages, EOLs, Material Change Requests (MCRs), and Product Change Notices (PCNs) on production PCBAs; including radio boards, network equipment, metrology, and battery powered end points (gas/water modules). The NACM is also responsible for component level deliverables in NPI projects including Component Risk Mitigation Report (CRMR), second sourcing components, and component risk mitigation in pre-production release. The NACM will actively participate in searching for product cost out opportunities and potentially drive some of these activities if no PCBA changes are needed.


Primary Responsibilities

    • Works as a team member in the Component Engineering organization which is responsible for supporting both sustaining and new product development activities.
  • Responsibilities
    • Work in collaboration with the local Component Manager, GCM, and S3G teams to select and source electrical and electromechanical components for inclusion in BOMs for NAM production using established procedures and guidelines
    • Completion of p-gate deliverables supporting NPI
    • Assist in evaluating PCN, MCR, and EOL notices
    • Assist in component cost-down activities
    • PDM interface (part creation, component attributes, approval)
  • Education and experience
    • Bachelor’s degree in technical or scientific field
    • 0-3 years of experience in a technical role
  • Knowledge, skills, and abilities
    • Basic knowledge of engineering concepts, phased product development process, electronic hardware, schematics, component datasheets, material science
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic CAD tools
