The Associate Director, Portfolio Excellence will provide ongoing strategic, operational, and business planning support to the Product Operations & Innovative Medicines US Enterprise Strategy team. This role will be integrating enterprise level insights and analytics across functions, distilling the most important insights and actions that drive impact, supporting end-to-end execution of core Product Organization annual planning processes, and creating or expanding resource allocation methodologies and investment frameworks to aid decision making and drive portfolio efficiencies.

This individual will work with the Director, Portfolio Excellence and Planning to develop and standardize metrics, analyses, reporting, and tools to assess and provide clear visibility to the overall health and performance of the US Pharmaceutical portfolio, conduct ongoing monitoring of key trends impacting the portfolio and disseminate insights to management, and build cross-functional impact metrics pro-grams to track performance of variables most important to portfolio success.

This individual will support the end-to-end management and integration of key annual planning processes and deliverables to ensure the Product Organization is linking strategic objectives with resource allocations, including the development of supportive tools and infrastructure. This individual will help manage the annual Integrated Product Strategy (IPS) process across the Product Organization, advancing program structure and guidance and ensuring standardization and execution of IPS best practices across the portfolio.

Additionally, this individual will support the expansion and execution of resource allocation methodologies by creating new portfolio and product-specific analyses, measuring the performance of existing initiatives, integrating relevant datasets into core business processes, and sharing best practices across the portfolio when applicable.

This individual's contribution to advancing strategic initiatives across the enterprise will have long-lasting impact for patients in need of, or treated with, our products. The ideal candidate is passionate about strategy, insights and analytics and the operational specificity required to translate strategy into impact. This individual will play an integral role in driving excellence in execution across the business.

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Devise strategic, operational, and business planning recommendations for the Product Organization
  • Lead integration of product insights from multiple functions to prioritize the most impactful actions
  • Support end-to-end execution of core Product Organization annual planning processes, including the IPS, annual budgeting, and key capability development and process integration.
  • Support Director, Portfolio Excellence & Planning on execution of group programs and deliverables, including analysis and reporting, KPI report development, external benchmarking and management reporting support.
  • Create or expand resource allocation methodologies and investment frameworks (inputs, cri-teria, prioritization)
  • Support large cross-functional strategic projects that aim to improve operational efficiency and/or result in significant customer impact
  • Ensure alignment to, compliance with, and ownership of all NPC policies, including the Code of Conduct and all applicable laws and regulations.

The ideal location for this role is East Hanover, NJ but remote work may be possible (there may be some restrictions based on legal entity). Please note that this role would not provide relocation as a result. If associate is remote, all home office expenses and any travel/lodging to East Hanover, NJ for periodic live meetings will be at the employee’s expense. The expectation of working hours and travel (domestic and/or international) will be defined by the hiring manager. This position will require 20% travel.

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $144,000 and $216,000 per year; however, while salary ranges are effective from 1/1/23 through 12/31/23, fluctuations in the job market may necessitate adjustments to pay ranges during this period. Further, final pay determinations will depend on various factors, including, but not limited to geographical location, experience level, knowledge, skills and abilities. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

Minimum requirements

What you'll bring to the role:

Education: Bachelor's Degree is required in relevant area, MBA preferred

Required:
  • 5+ years in pharmaceutical, biotech, healthcare, or healthcare consulting industry inclusive of at least 2 different types of cross-functional roles / experience
  • 2+ years in project management and translation of strategy into execution
  • 2+ years leading complex projects requiring global and local alignment

Preferred:
  • 2+ years within a significant consultancy group
  • 2+ years in analytics or insights role
  • MBA or Health Policy Degree
  • Global or Regional experience (projects or full-time roles or temporary roles for 6 months or more)
  • Experience working collaboratively across matrixed organizations
