The Associate Designer is responsible for execution and follow up of the design development process. They will work with internal and external partners to ensure development and presentation is completed on target and on time.
Design responsibility of secondary account from concept to execution with supervision from Designer or Senior Designer.
Essential Functions

  • Request, track and update fabric and sample development thru PLM.
  • Maintain and update development report and sourcing chart for all accounts/label.
  • Collaborate with sales and cad team to create seasonal buy pages
  • Assist Technical Designer to create technical and design sketches for tech pack.
  • Responsible to sets up BOM and Tech Packs in PLM.
  • Assist Designer & Senior Designer with trim development, this include artwork development, sample request and follow up.
  • Maintain and update trim approval for each customer label.
  • Assists Designer, Senior Designer and CAD Textile Designer with seasonal presentation material, color trend board.
  • Set up weekly meeting to bring direct supervisor up to date on development progress and issue. Review sample status, hand loom, lab dip, trial weave and trim approval.
  • Follow T&A, ensure execution met planned timeline and result meet expectation.
  • Weekly meeting with manager to update development progress. Escalate any unresolved issue within 48 hours.
  • From concept to bulk order, Associate Designer will research, design, develop, present and follow up on seasonal program for his or her account. Manage process workflow with both internal and external team to ensure high level of execution.
  • Join Designer on local retails shopping and store visit to better understand customer product, retail trend and market direction.
  • Participate in on site meeting with customer and supplier.
  • Attend color and trend presentation, on sight mill and vendor meeting.
  • Learn and assist in design process.
  • Opportunity to train with in-house Textile Designer on Kaledo CAD software.
  • Opportunity to train with Senior Technical Designer on technical design process.
  • Attend continued education classes and training (Cotton Inc seminar, Adobe and Microsoft Software updates, PLM, etc.)
