Job Description Summary: The Assistant Terminal Manager position is directly responsible for local safety management, driver scheduling, recruiting and staffing, vehicle maintenance, and the overall efficient, effective cost management of the operation while complying with all regulatory agencies including, but not limited to DOT, OHSA, and FDA requirements at our facility. The Assistant Terminal Manager position offers GREAT upward mobility into the Director of Transportation role.

Required Qualifications

  • Qualified candidates to possess a Bachelor Degree
  • 2+ years of operations management experience supervising a staff required

Preferred Qualifications

  • College degree in a related field preferred
  • 5+ years of operations management experience supervising a staff strongly preferred
  • Logistics/Dispatching experience
  • Previous experience in the industrial and/or specialty gas business preferred
  • Monitor TMT reports
  • Work with mechanics to insure parts inventories meet established levels.
  • Insure monthly activity reports are prepared and submitted on time
  • Monitor PMI schedule to insure target goals with 3rd party vendor are attained
  • Ensure compliance with all environmental regulations for handling and disposal of hazardous waste with 3rd party vendors.
  • Ensure availability of maintenance help after hours and weekends with 3rd party vendors.
  • Ensure good communications with the Logistics Center for scheduling of vehicle maintenance.
  • Insure completion of driver demand repairs from road inspections are handled promptly
  • DOT and OSHA Compliance
  • Tractor trailer maintenance
  • Previous experience in the industrial and/or specialty gas business preferred.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write routine business reports and business correspondence in English.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from employees and/or customers.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals using the English language.
