Job Title: Assistant Project Manager

Employment Status: Full-Time/Regular


Summary

The Assistant Project Manager provides support to the Program Manager by coordinating project activities related to any and all projects. The main duties are to ensure the continuity and efficiency of each project from start to finish through clear communication to all parties involved. The Assistant Project Manager handles multiple projects within a fast-paced environment and is open to constant changes and challenges. The ideal candidate will be highly organized and be able to manage multiple projects at once in the absence of day-to-day guidance. This position will work with program and project managers to achieve an 80% utilization rate on client projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

  • Assists the Program Manager with the successful full cycle of assigned projects; from initiation to completion to completion
  • Serves as a Subject Matter Expert in environmental consulting and remediation areas of expertise
  • Supports construction line of business projects by assisting with project coordination, subcontractor administration, and reporting
  • Ensures all project documentation is accurate and up to date
  • Assists project with customer communication and interactions
  • Ensures work authorization, completion certificates and all other required documents are obtained from the client
  • Ensures task order requirements are completed and uploaded in a timely manner.
  • Ensures invoicing is completed accurately in line with client protocols.
  • Acts as a liaison between the customer and Program Manager to ensure project success
  • Performs technical tasks required by the task order or contract in support of project needs.
  • Be aware of all aspects of the scopes of work so proper assistance to the Program Manager can be provided
  • Tracks project changes and produces updated schedules
  • Review project information and compiles schedules in a timely manner
  • Tracks the progress of all new and ongoing projects and maintains up-to-date notes
  • Organize, compile and submit support documentation on completion of project
  • Submit any required information to the client as directed by the Program Manager
  • Provide excellent customer service
  • Other job-related duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field
  • 5+ years in project management or a similar role
  • Knowledge of environmental and construction projects

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

  • Ability and desire to work collaboratively to ensure successful project execution
  • Manage sensitive information appropriate and maintain confidentiality
  • Strong aptitude to work within deadlines
  • Ability to work within a team or independently as needed
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management software
  • Highly organized and ability to multitask
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team

Occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
