About the Company:

Dovetail Custom Wood and Metal is an architectural manufacturing company that focuses on engineering and building custom products out of wood, metal, and stone for large commercial projects. Our projects include high-rise hotels, condominiums, medical facilities, schools and universities, and sports complexes.

About the Position:

The Assistant Project Manager at Dovetail is responsible for supporting the Project Manager from the time the contract is signed to completing the punch list. Day to day the project engineer will spend time working in the office, visiting jobsites, working alongside the shop production teams, supporting drafting and engineering efforts, managing client communications, material submittals, RFI’s, change order logs, work orders, and more. It is a hands on position in running a project schedule, planning, and executing field dimensions, delivery, and installation.

Responsibilities:

  • Documentation Expert: Gathers, reviews, and organize all project documents, such as contracts, warranties, RFIs, submittals, RFI and submittal logs, and closeouts, in accordance with Dovetail policies and procedures.
  • Organization Hub: Organizes all project documentation for quick, easy reference.
  • Schedule Master: Creates and updates schedules that reflect accurate and easily understandable information for the projects being worked on.
  • Project Liaison: Work with Drafters, Engineers, Fabricators, Project Managers, General Contractors, and Architects to make sure all assigned project information is being communicated clearly and accurately.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of related experience is preferred, but not required
  • Construction field experience preferred, but not required
  • Passion and fascination for construction
  • Responsible, dependable, and takes ownership
  • Well-organized, a planner
  • Attention to detail
  • Levelheaded personality who is not prone to get flustered
  • Personality that can strive in an intense fast paced work environment
  • Customer-service orientation
  • Team player and strong interpersonal skills
