Assistant Project Manager - this is position is contingent based on award of proposal

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Support the Project Manager in daily operations and identify responsibilities at the project level.
  • Act as the main point of contact between program and Team Members for day-to-day project development and implementation.
  • Prepare recommendation notifications and reports to communicate which projects will be funded and which are not eligible.
  • Oversee and track executed Program agreements with client to evaluate the allocation of funds in coordination with client's Finance division.
  • Coordinate all necessary reporting activities to communicate the status of all executed Federal and Local Program agreements.
  • Track and report the status and performance of each sub-recipient project.
  • Provide and/or manage daily technical assistance to the sub-recipient team.
  • Monitor, identify, report, and recommend solutions to issues related to, but not limited to, Program compliance, schedule, scope, and budget to the Project Manager and sub-recipient.
  • Coordinate and lead Program meetings.
  • Review, provide comments, and recommend approval of Grant Applications, Draw Requests, Change Orders, Program Agreement Amendments, Budget Revisions, and Closeout Documentation packages.
  • Responsible for reviewing and recommending certifications for payment and change orders.
  • Establish direct communications with the Program point of contact during the Application evaluation and implementation of projects under Federal and Local Programs.

Requirements:

  • Must have a bachelor's degree in an Engineering field, Business Administration, Business Management, Accounting, or similar discipline.
  • Must have at least eight (8) years of experience, a minimum of four years of related management or supervision experience working with Federal Programs.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Fluent in both English and Spanish Languages preferred but not required.
  • Must be working locally from Puerto Rico.

Other Details:

Under Section 3 of the HUD Act of 1968, additional preference will be given to Section 3 residents in the Puerto Rico area who meet the requirements of this position.
