Your role as an Assistant Housekeeping Manager:
As a member of the Statler Hotel’s Management Team, you will directly support the daily operations of the Housekeeping Department. This position is essential for ensuring that our quality and service standards are met, anticipating and responding to key operational needs, and providing direction and guidance to staff. and Among your main responsibilities you will:
  • Support oversight of the management of the facility, ensuring the cleanliness and maintenance of guest rooms and public areas, the proper functioning of furnishings, fixtures, and systems, and alerting maintenance staff of issues that need attention.
  • Assist with the administrative management duties, including: scheduling and weekly payroll, planning, budgeting, forecasting and meeting financial goals, conducting inventories, completing projects, and participating in management meetings and committees.
  • Facilitate our teaching mission by providing coaching and mentorship to student employees of the department and through partnership with faculty to ensure learning outcomes for students are met.
  • Support all hiring, training and supervisory activities for all staff.
Required Qualifications:
  • High school diploma required.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in hotel housekeeping operations.
  • Must have the proven ability to assume responsibility, exercise authority, and supervise employees.
  • Must have the ability to assist with the training, coaching and mentoring of college students in an experiential learning environment.
  • Must have good written and verbal communication skills and have a solid grasp of computer skills, ideally with proficiency in hotel information systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • A Statler Management Team Member should be a highly motivated, dynamic, and organized individual with a professional demeanor and superior customer service skills, indicative of a AAA rated Four Diamond hotel.
  • The primary work schedule for this position will be the afternoon/evening shift, including weekends. But with a business volume that frequently changes throughout the year, the candidate must be able to meet a flexible work schedule.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associate’s degree.
  • Familiar with hotel PMS and task management systems.
