Position Title: Assistant Elevator Operator - Temporary (AVS)

Position Purpose:
This is a temporary position that provides general maintenance and elevator assistance at the Antelope Valley Station in Beulah, ND. These positions are responsible to provide elevator coverage as needed during the outage. Hours and days will be assigned by the Maintenance Engineering Supervisor.

Qualifications:

To perform effectively in this position, the incumbent must be at least 18 years of age and have the ability to read, write, and perform simple arithmetic calculations at a level acquired through completion of a high school diploma or equivalent (GED or HSED). A strong work ethic, good attitude, and dependability, as well as the ability to be a team player, is required. The incumbent must be proficient with personal computers. A valid driver’s license is also required. The incumbent must also possess the ability to communicate to supervisors and co-workers in both written and verbal forms.

Typical Physical/Mental/Environmental Demands:
This position requires constant standing/walking; and occasional lifting/carrying up to 50 pounds, pushing/pulling up to 60 pounds, sitting, bending/reaching, and climbing. This position uses shovels, squeegee, and brooms. This position may also be exposed to heat/cold, dirt/dust, chemicals, and noise. The incumbent may be required to work in confined areas. The incumbent will also be required to work at heights up to 300 feet, which requires the use of safety equipment, including a harness, in accordance with ANSI Z359 standards. The incumbent must also be able to distinguish colored control lights and hear alarms. The incumbent must have good color vision, and the ability to read, comprehend, and follow written/verbal instructions. This position is assigned to work both indoors and outdoors, and requires shift work. The incumbent must be able to operate a motor vehicle.

Wage: $25.00 /hr.
