About the role:

As an Assistant Editor for Taste of Home, you’ll work on all kinds of food and lifestyle content for tasteofhome.com, covering everything from cooking techniques and recipes to home decor. This entry-level role is a blend of writing and updating content, SEO research and project management.

About you:

You’re a talented writer who loves to keep things organized. You have strong digital instincts and an interest in SEO that will ultimately help Taste of Home meet our lofty traffic goals. You’re curious about what’s happening in the world of food and eager to share that info with our audience in fun and engaging ways.

Your day-to-day:

• Update our digital food and lifestyle content to meet SEO best practices
• Participate in brainstorms to ideate new content and improve existing content
• Build recipe collections by choosing suitable recipes and writing descriptions
• Collaborate with our Test Kitchen professionals to build insights and authority into content
• Research SEO keywords using Semrush
• Package our most compelling content for syndication via partners like Flipboard, Apple News and MSN
• Curate content to highlight on our home page and hub pages
• Other duties as assigned by the Senior Editor

You have:

• 1-3 years of experience (including internships) writing digital content
• Bachelor’s degree in English, communications, marketing or a related field
• Solid knowledge of the digital landscape, particularly SEO best practices
• The ability to manage multiple projects at the same time to meet deadlines—and change course as needed
• Research skills and an understanding of what makes a reliable source
• Familiarity with WordPress or similar content management systems
• Understanding of AP Style and the ability to adhere to style guidelines
• Keen interest in the food and food lifestyle space
