SFCC provides a high-quality, geographically, financially and emotionally accessible education to more than 5,000 students who range from traditional college-age students to adult learners.

The college offers associate of arts, associate of fine arts, associate of science and associate of applied science degrees, professional and skills certificates, and noncredit courses and programs, and workforce development training in a 14-county area in central Missouri with locations in Sedalia, Boonville, Clinton, Eldon, Lake of the Ozarks, Warsaw, at Whiteman Air Force Base, and online.

Position Purpose:
The Assistant Director of the Clinton Campus reports to the Director, providing supervision and leadership for the Clinton Campus when the Director is off campus. Functions include providing exemplary customer service to students, staff and the public, student recruitment and retention, resource coordination, cross-trained in admissions, testing, advising and financial aid.

Examples of Duties / Knowledge & Skills

  • Provides supervision and leadership for the Clinton Campus in absence of Director
  • Facilitate a student-centered approach among staff and faculty
  • Serve as first point-of-contact for prospective students as well as follow-up throughout their educational journey, working to ensure student success.
  • Facilitate transfer and/or transition for students seeking a degree or certificate.
  • Provide student focused customer service to prospective, current, and returning students requesting or inquiring about possible financial aid opportunities
  • This position will have active involvement in the financial aid processes of verification, satisfactory academic progress appeals, financial aid professional judgment, and dependency override requests. Additionally, this position may be called upon to do financial aid presentations at orientations and FAFSA workshops
  • Coordinate and proctor Testing Services, including but not limited to ACCUPLACER, TEAS-V and CCMA
  • Receive routine and non-routine written/verbal inquiries, evaluate situation, and determine the appropriate course of action and/or refer students to the appropriate department to meet student needs
  • Provide support to Clinton ADN (RN), Medical Assisting and Surgical Technology programs
  • Represents the SFCC Clinton Campus in community events and organizations, including presentations and interviews
  • May prepare requisitions, receive orders, process shipments, or maintain inventory
  • Maintain confidentiality in all aspects of student, staff, and organizational information
  • Represents the Clinton Campus and serves as a resource by participating on various College committees.
  • Contributes to the overall success of the College by performing all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  • A willingness to take on additional responsibility and work collaboratively, both within the unit and campus wide
  • Other duties as deemed necessary for the function of the college.

Minimum qualifications & Requirements

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree


Experience:
  • Preferred:
    • At least five years of experience in higher education
      • Supervisory or management experience in an alternate field may be considered
    • Previous experience with advising, counseling or case management
    • Working knowledge of Financial Aid, alternative funding options and scholarship programs


Skills:
  • Required:
    • Demonstrated ability to work and communicate effectively with all constituencies of a diverse college community (or similar setting)
    • Demonstrated leadership and management skills
    • Proficient computer skills required, including but not limited to typing skills and use of Microsoft Office products
  • Preferred:
    • Experience with Microsoft Teams and Zoom is preferred
Physical Requirements:
  • Work involves sedentary to light work in an office setting.
  • There is frequent sitting, with walking, standing and stooping occasionally required.
  • There is an occasional need to lift objects (up to 20 pounds) and perform other similar actions during the course of the workday.
