Outdoor Living/Christmas Shop Assistant Buyer

About the position: With a dedication to helping others and an eye for details, the Assistant Buyer assists with the buying, pricing, promoting, and merchandising of the store’s Outdoor living and Christmas Shop products. He/she will support salespeople and customers with their buying decisions and questions. They also ensure accuracy and analyze data to recognize trends and help execute strategy.

Essential Responsibilities:

• 
  Replenishes supply of all stock items.
• 
  Reviews every order and PO for accuracy.
• 
  Maintains and updates all pricing in the computer and loads new items.
• 
  Reviews and corrects reports, price exceptions and promotions.
• 
  Follows up on all missing orders and communicates with customers and salespeople.
• 
  Ensures all special-order returns are returned to the vendor and that credits are received.
• 
  Assists with events as needed.
• 
  Suggests products for promotions.
• 
  Helps with new products and planogram setup.
• 
  Assists with sales and administrative tasks as needed.

Essential Qualifications:

• 
  Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Marketing/Merchandising/Sales or other related fields preferred.
• 
  Retail sales and purchasing experience is a plus.
• 
  Verbal and written communication skills to create charts, spreadsheets, etc. and present them as needed.
• 
  Ability to analyze and act upon data from multiple sources.
• 
  Computer proficiency, especially with Excel and/or other spreadsheets and inventory systems.
