In line with the company's strategy to re-position the hotel within the luxury sector, the transformation comprises the re-design of public spaces including a new bar and restaurant in collaboration with Martin Brudnizki, an internationally acclaimed interior architecture and design studio, and the refurbishment of Level Nine, the hotel's exclusive suite floor.

We are now recruiting for an experienced and passionate Assistant Banquet Manager to join the hotel. Supporting the Director of Banquets. The Assistant Banquet Manager will provide assistance and direction in leading the banquet team while personally assisting in executing events based on requirements and luxury standards.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Assisting in managing departmental inventories including par levels and equipment maintenance

Maintaining attendance logs and supporting materials for payroll

Ensures employee awareness of the event phase portion, maintaining timely service according to BEO and resume specifications, maintaining communication with meeting planners on site and addressing concerns, questions and service needs.

Assists with ordering supplies

Assists in scheduling staff to forecast and service standards, while maximizing profits

provides event directions when servicing events, ensuring understanding of expectations and perimeters and the flow of service is met

Attends BEO, resume, pre and post con and other hotel meetings as required

Address team member concerns in an effective and positive manner, ensuring a positive work environment. Participates in new hire and ongoing service training and development of banquet team

Sets a positive example for guest and team member relations

The ideal candidate will have the following knowledge, skills and abilities:

• At least two years of experience in event management, food and beverage
• At least two years supervisory experience
• Experience in luxury hotels or hospitality environments is needed
• Knowledge of meeting and event set up, audio visual is strongly preferred.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule to include am or pm shifts, weekends. Houts vary and are based on events
• Is able to meet the physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accomodation.
