This position will report to the Executive Associate Athletic Director for Internal Operations and Student-Athlete Services and be responsible for the coordination of NCAA rules compliance and Missouri Valley Conference, Pioneer Football League, Southland, and MAC rules compliance internally and externally for Valparaiso University. This includes implementing a comprehensive strategy and process for NCAA and conference rules monitoring, education, and enforcement. Specific areas of oversight include academic certificates, rules education, report gathering, infraction reporting, institutional and conference committees, and NCAA education programs as well as the processing and tracking student-athlete financial aid


Major Responsibilities:

  • The successful candidate will possess strong communication skills, analytical skills, and relevant competencies
  • Candidates are expected to be committed to promoting inclusive excellence and working with a diverse student body
  • The person in this position must be flexible and available during evenings or weekends as needed
  • This position will serve as a sports administrator for assigned sports
  • Valparaiso sports administrators serve as a liaison between the head coaches and director of athletics
  • The sports administrators facilitate the head coaches' evaluations
  • Responsible for providing administrative oversight and support for their assigned sports in the areas of:
    • Academics and Student-Athlete Development
    • Compliance
    • Budget
    • Competitive Excellence
    • Contracts
    • Facilities
    • Financial Aid
    • Marketing
    • Roster Management
    • Sports Medicine and Sports Performance
    • Student-Athlete Conduct
    • Team Travel

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Master’s degree preferred
  • 5-8 years of experience working with NCAA Division I, II, or Ill student-athletes
  • Experience in middle management or leadership roles
