The primary responsibility for this position will be to teach pharmacokinetics, pharmaceutics, and calculations to graduate students in the Pharmacy program. Candidates will be expected to have a strong commitment to innovative teaching and active learning. Candidates are also expected to conduct research in the areas of drug delivery, formulation development or related field. The position is a full-time, 12-month appointment.

Education and Experience:
The successful candidate will have Ph.D., Sc.D., or PharmD with teaching experience in pharmaceutics/biopharmaceutics or related field. Candidate must be knowledgeable in course content and effective in teaching assigned subjects. Candidates with previous experience teaching in graduate level health science programs will be given strong preference.

This position is within the School of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (SPHS), but the individual may teach topics or courses in other KGI programs as well. Therefore, the individual must follow the policies and procedures associated with SPHS and each individual program, as well as perform program-specific functions/responsibilities. The individual must:

School of Pharmacy Functions and Responsibilities:
Primary duties consist of teaching and facilitating student learning with advanced strategies in the areas of pharmacokinetics, pharmaceutics and calculations.
Research expertise in the areas of drug delivery, formulation development, or a related field.
Have a track record of and maintain scholarly activity as demonstrated by a record of success consisting publications or patents.

General SPHS Functions and Responsibilities:
Fosters academic and clinical collaborations with other programs in the School of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, Henry E. Riggs School of Applied Life Sciences, and the School of Medicine;
Serves in appropriate committees in the School of Pharmacy and Health Sciences;
Advise and mentor professional pharmacy and graduate students.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Individuals must possess knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the essential function of the position, or be able to explain or demonstrate how the essential functions may be performed, with or without, reasonable accommodations, using some other combination of skills and abilities.

Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
Relevant teaching experience at an accredited college or university.
Familiarity with learning management systems, video recording and editing, MS Office (esp, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and videoconferencing.
Strong personal and professional commitment to building and maintaining a diverse and inclusive workforce and a demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals with diverse backgrounds and groups representing numerous perspectives and interests.
