OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for all administrative aspects of the Nursing Services Department at the community. Daily directs the staffing, finances, operations, and regulatory compliance of the Nursing Services Department.

WORKING RELATIONSHIPS

Reports to: Executive Director
Supervises: Certified Nursing Assistants, And Medications Technicians
Interfaces with: Residents, families, visitors, and associates

PRIMARY JOB DUTIES

Directs the daily operations of the Nursing Services Department meeting or exceeding Western States Senior Communities standards of service.

Maintains the dignity and privacy of all residents. Protects all resident rights.

Operates the Nursing Services Department within established budgets. Recommends and implements programs to increase revenue and control expenses. Assists in the development of annual operating budgets and explains significant variances from approved budgets.

Supervises Nursing Services' associates ensuring that all personnel policies and procedures are followed. Schedules, recruits, retains, trains, and directs associates. Ensures that compensation, including benefits are managed within established budgets. Ensures that all laws and regulations that pertain to employment are obeyed.

Assists in managing census to maintain stabilized occupancy and proper levels of care.

Ensure compliance with all rules, regulations, laws and statutes pertaining to the licensing of an assisted living community.

Maintains and protects the confidentiality of resident information at all times.
Supervises all staff in a manner that encourages top performance and growth of subordinates.

Performs other reasonable tasks as assigned by supervisor.

Actively participates in developing and updating resident's service plan.

Ensures that each resident's service plan is implemented and carried out by the Nursing Services Department.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Experience in Long-Term Care settings or Assisted Living environments.

Experience in the general management and operations of a health care facility, preferably in long term care preferred.

Ability to effectively communicate with residents, families, supervisor, employees.

Willingness to work with the elderly.
