INDUSTRIAL HYGIENE TECHNICIAN

Asbestos, Lead, Mold, and Environmental Services

Purpose

HSE Consulting Services, LLC (HSE) is seeking highly motivated individuals who are looking to begin or advance their career in the health, safety, and environmental consulting field. Our goal is to develop a staff of exceptionally talented team members to assist HSE in providing our clients with consistent, high-quality testing and consulting services related to asbestos-containing materials, lead-based paint, mold, indoor air quality, employee hazard exposures, and environmental contaminants.

Minimum Qualifications

·A high school diploma is required, an associate or bachelor’s degree focused on math and/or science is preferred

·Current NYS asbestos project monitor or inspector certification is highly desirable, however we will train qualified candidates

·Valid NYS driver’s license and reliable transportation which may be required for company business as needed

·Good verbal and written communication skills

·Positive attitude and the ability to work independently and as part of a team

·Must be willing to travel and work out of town on occasional short-term projects when necessary

·Must be willing to work nights, weekends, or holidays when needed

·Must be able to pass a medical exam and pulmonary function test verifying the ability to wear respiratory protection

Primary Responsibilities

Upon receiving appropriate training and certifications, this position is responsible for project functions including, but not necessarily limited to, the following:

·Performing air sampling and project monitoring services on asbestos abatement projects in conformance with applicable New York State Department of Labor (NYSDOL) and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) requirements.

·Conducting asbestos surveys and performing bulk sample collection activities in conformance with applicable NYSDOL and EPA requirements.

·Conducting lead-based paint (LBP) inspections, risk assessments, and clearance examinations in conformance with applicable EPA requirements and HUD Guidelines.

·Performing mold assessments, preparing mold remediation plans, monitoring mold remediation activities, and performing mold clearance assessments.

·Preparing asbestos, lead-based paint, and mold assessment and monitoring reports in conformance with applicable NYSDOL, EPA, and HUD requirements.

·Work with HSE management and coworkers as part of a team to do what it takes to complete projects according to the needs of HSE’s clients.

·Work in a safe manner at all times.

·Perform any other duties as may be necessary to achieve organizational goals and priorities.

Pay: From $19.00 per hour
