Academy of Art University is seeking to fulfill a number of roles within the University's academic labs, equipment facilities and shops for the upcoming 2022 / 2023 academic year. Artistic Lab and Shop Technicians work directly with students, faculty and staff on a variety of matters that ensure efficient and effective utilization of resources within the University's labs, equipment facilities and shop spaces.

What an Academic Support Technician Will Do Each Day:

• Provide quality customer service to all students and faculty

• Answer questions regarding resource allocation, use and returns

• Quickly help to resolve matters that directly impact the work of students in a shop or computer lab environment

• Support with inventory management and quality control

• Assist, as needed, with software and hardware updates or machinery repairs

• Ensure best practices are followed for respective work locations

What You Will Need to Bring to the Team:

• A positive attitude and solution-oriented mindset to successfully troubleshoot a variety of technical matters

• Strong time management and organizational skill sets that enable you to support a number of individuals effectively and quickly

• A passion for art and design and at least two years of professional experience working within a related field

• Knowledge of PCs and Macs is highly preferred. Respective software program and / or tool shop knowledge is necessary.

Compensation: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour

Part-time and full-time Technicians may also attend one tuition-free undergraduate class per semester.
