JOB SUMMARY: An Arcade Associate for Wilderness at the Smokies is responsible for providing guests with a safe and positive experience in the Arcade section of Adventure Forest. This includes, but isn’t limited to: ensuring all safety requirements are met, providing outstanding customer service, communicating with guests and other associates, helping our guests have a fun time and all other duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.

1. Assists guests with purchase of access to rides.
2. Acts as cashier -- takes money from guests to load $ amounts onto playing card so they can utilize play areas.
3. Gets redemption of points from guests and gives them correct merchandise.
4. Excellent cash/credit handling skills.
5. Excellent communication skills; verbally communicate and tactfully enforce Safety rules.
6. React calmly and quickly in stressful/emergency situations. Physically assist guests throughout the area, as required.
7. Visually observe guest actions to prevent safety hazards.
8. Ensure that each guest receives outstanding customer service by providing a friendly environment.
9. Alert proper personnel when games are in need of repair.
10. Keep ride/attraction area clean.
11. Follow all safety standards to include reporting any violation of standards.
12. Requires regular and predictable attendance.
13. All other duties as assigned by management.

• Ability to operate all equipment necessary to perform job.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills; able to communicate with people at all levels.
• Must be self-motivated and disciplined; ability to work independently or as part of a team.

• Proficient in time-management skills and multi-tasking abilities.

• Able to work a flexible schedule, which may include weekends, night and holidays.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Prefer six months experience in customer service.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and operating procedures/instructions. Proficiency in English language is required in order to effectively communicate with guests/associates.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one, or two- step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS: Willingness to perform any required task within associate’s capabilities in order to effectively meet the needs of the company/guests. Ability to get along well with others.

While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to stand for extended periods of time, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk and hear; smell. The associate is occasionally required to sit.

The associate must regularly lift and/or move up to 30 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the associate may be regularly exposed to wet and or humid conditions; extreme heat and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
