Position Overview
Boart Longyear is seeking a Cash / AR Accountant to join our Cash/Accounts Receivable team. This team is part of our global Finance Shared Service Center located in our Corporate office in Salt Lake City, Utah. This role has the responsibility for tracking and managing cash balances, posting daily cash receipts, and preparing bank reconciliations for our global portfolio of bank accounts. This role is partnered with the Treasury, Credit and Accounts Payable functions to ensure adequate control and management of cash. As a key member of the team, you will have the opportunity to interact with various departments and regional offices all over the world in a collaborative work environment.

Essential Job Functions and Duties

• Accountable for the accuracy of a portfolio of bank accounts and related general ledger accounts
• Continually develop and maintain relationships with assigned regional accounting teams, treasury, credit, and accounts payable functions; this is vital for communication channels to ensure timely accounting transactions
• Ensure daily and monthly reconciliation of bank accounts
• Provide analysis of accounts to support monthly reporting, including variance analysis
• Identify and implement process and control efficiencies
• Provide support for internal and external audits
• Coordinate and assist in quarterly and annual reporting requirements
• Communicate effectively and consistency to ensure work responsibilities are delivered accurately and on time
• Other responsibilities as delegated

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, required
• One to three years of relative experience in an accounting role, preferably in a multi-regional organization
• Demonstrated ability to communicate well, both written and verbally, and to work with others across the organization to accomplish the objectives of the role and team
• Strong attention to detail ensuring controls are operating effectively and all accounts are reconciled on-time each month
• Experience working under monthly accounting close timetable and ability to prioritize to meet deadlines
• Ownership mentality and drive to learn
• Drive to constantly improve process efficiency and control effectiveness
• Oracle R12 experience a plus
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of ME Office Suite; including use of pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and some advanced functions where necessary
• Fluency with the Spanish language a plus, but not required
• Flexibility with nonstandard working hours for month-end/year-end close
