Overview

The Larimer County IT Department is looking for a Senior Application Support Specialist to join an established team of professional self-starters in our Application Support Team! This role will have a data-analytics focus and will actively participate in increasing efficiency and improving data transparency throughout the county.

Responsibilities

Specifically, this position:

  • Under general direction, formulates and defines application scope, requirements, needs, and objectives.
  • Develops and modifies basic reports as requested by coworkers.
  • Performs testing to validate the accuracy and validity of reports and data integrity.
  • Identifies strengths and weaknesses in reporting design plans and suggests areas of improvement.
  • Works with users to support business applications and investigates operational problems/system requirements.
  • Generates receives, and reviews application-produced output, verifying for completeness and accuracy, consulting with other coworkers as necessary, and initiating corrections when required.
  • Prepares detailed requirements from which applications will be written, purchased, or use of existing application modules/functionality.

We are looking for a candidate that will:

  • Provide exceptional end-user support and answering technical questions.
  • Partner with members of various departments to correct issues and configure and implement new functionality and system-specific reports.
  • Maintain existing or create new workflow processes.
  • Build comprehensive technical documentation for routine tasks and processes related to various reporting systems used throughout the county.
  • Collaborate and manage tickets with vendor technical support.
  • Be self-driven and possess the ability to work well with guidance from members of the team.

Qualifications

All candidates will be screened for the following required minimum qualifications. Any candidate who does not meet all of the qualifications listed as required will be eliminated from the process.

  • Four (4) years related applications support or systems support experience required.
  • Possess reliable transportation to be able to work in any County facility as needed and required.

Supplemental Information

The typical schedule for this position is 8am-5pm Monday to Friday.

An offer of employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen and background check. As marijuana is an illegal substance under federal law, testing positive for marijuana (medical or otherwise) or any other substance for which the county tests, will result in the contingent offer of employment being revoked. A successful completion of the drug screen is defined as obtaining a negative result.
