As an IT Application Development – Journey, you support the statewide enterprise applications by serving as the technical professional for application development, support, and enhancement of statewide enterprise systems. It provides professional IT consultation and development services for mission-critical applications which are used by budget, accounting, and HR staff. You design, write, test, in a development environment, implement, and maintain customized software applications impacting all state agencies across Washington state.

What you’ll do:
Design, code, test, debug, document, and deploy new and existing applications, components, and web services using industry and agency standard development tools and frameworks.- Design and write applications and database code for complex enterprise systems that are large?scale or have multiple dependences.
- Use design methodologies to write code that is reusable, scalable, and extensible.
- Support and maintain high impact applications by making coding changes as needed.
- Independently resolve issues reported by customers for enterprise applications that run on multiple platforms or environments.
- Research technologies to support development efforts and troubleshoot issues.
- Research complex technical issues related to application development, database structure, application platform, configuration, application performance, security, and data integrity.
Required:
- Associate degree in computer programming, computer science, or related field. *
- Four (4) years of recent computer programming experience using object orientated methodologies. Examples may include:
- C#, VB.Net, ASP.Net, Visual Basic, etc.
- Writing and accessing database code using TSQL, stored procedures, or Entity Framework.
- Developing web applications using web technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, ASP.NET, MVC, JQuery, XML.
- Additional related professional experience may substitute for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
- Interpersonal and communication skills.
- Self-initiative – ability to work independently.
- You must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship from this agency.
