Position Summary (Internal Only)

Provide educational support to student residents of Kendall County Women’s Shelter after school, for one hour, four days per week for the duration of the school year during regular school calendar weeks.

Education/Certification

• High school diploma, Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Certified Educator preferred; Texas Certification preferred

Special Knowledge/Skills

• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Ability to use computer hardware and software appropriate to responsibility
• Demonstrated ability to work with multiple grade levels, elementary and secondary
• Spanish speaking preferred

Major Responsibilities and Duties

1. Provide educational support to student residents of Kendall County Women’s Shelter after school
2. Maintain records of grant-funded activities as required by the district McKinney-Vento Liaison
3. Comply with all Women’s Shelter confidentiality, and related requirements
4. Monitor student grades and assignments
5. Coordinate with the teacher of record for test reviews, missing assignments, and skill reviews
6. Teach study skills and organizational skills to students
7. Assist parents with organizing additional homework and study time for their students
8. Serve as a liaison between the students, parents, and the campus of enrollment

Supervisory Responsibilities: None

Equipment Used: Personal computer, telephone, printer, copier, and calculator

Working Conditions: Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress; travel district-wide; work occasional prolonged and irregular hours.

Exemption Status: Non-Standard Hourly rate
Paygrade: PP01/ Certified $25 pr hr.
Months/Days: 1 hour x 4 days/week
Contract Status: At-Will
