This position is responsible for monitoring cargo & mail handling from safety and quality view and providng technical support to the stations in US and Canada, if necessary. Thisposition need monitor to comply the regulation for CBP, CBSA and TSA.

In this role, the successful candidate will manage and monitor overall Cargo and Mail operations including both import and export for all Japan Airlines’ North American network. This position requires advanced knowledge of government regulations, i.e. US CBP, TSA and Canadian Authorities and ability to communicate and coordinate with external agencies.

Job Description:

As a representative from the corporate office, this role supports overall Cargo and Mail operations in American Region.

  • Periodically reviews station Cargo & Mail operation procedures to maintain safety and quality of flights and recommends and implements improvements.
  • Plans and conducts training for cargo ops staff in US and Canada as an Cargo Instructor (CGI).
  • Assists/supports/coordinates station activities and collaborates with multi-functional departments and agencies to ensure essential needs are met for safe, efficient, on-time operation.
  • Disseminates up-to-date government compliance information to all stations so that each station can conduct their cargo businesses without any issues.
  • Prepares monthly periodical statistics and reports for management.

* This position requires frequent domestic / international business trips (30-40%)

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent training/experience.
  • At least 5 years of extensive airline cargo experience required.
  • Knowledge of claim processes preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills (written/verbal).
  • Ability to work variable hours and flexible schedule
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite products-Outlook, Excel, Word, & PowerPoint.
  • Must have a good knowledge of Cargo applications, e.g. CargoSpot, ACE, AES, ACI (CBSA).
  • IATA Dangerous Goods Certification preferred
  • Maintain a professional attitude andappearance.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Must be able to pass a TSA and US Customs background checks.
  • Must have an legal authorization to work in the U.S.
