  • TITLE: Afterschool Program Director
  • QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Professional Educator, Bachelors’ Degree and/or extensive experience in design and implementation of programs for youth. (preferred but not required)
  • Evidence of leadership skills.
  • Ability to work with volunteers and advisory groups.
  • Strong interpersonal and supervisory skills, and abilities to organize and direct others toward goals.
  • General administrative skills and grant management experience
  • Public relations skills and experience in working cooperatively with community groups.

III. REPORTS TO:

Elementary Principal, Superintendent of Schools

  • JOB GOAL:
  • Improve student learning in one or more core academic area.
  • Increase social benefits and positive behavior changes.
  • Increase family and community engagement in supporting student’ education.
  • PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Program Leadership

  • Provides for organization of programs services/activities
  • Provides for effective delivery of programs services/activities
  • Promotes on-going staff development

Program Management

  • Provides for effective and efficient day-to day operation of programs 2. Ensures school and facilities are conducive to positive climate
  • Ensures efficient management of fiscal resources
  • Maintains effective school building discipline/responsibility.
  • Demonstrates effective communication skills
  • Provides for effective maintenance of records and accountability. Interpersonal Relationships
  • Demonstrates positive interpersonal relationships with students 2. Demonstrates positive interpersonal relationships with staff/volunteers 3. Demonstrates positive interpersonal relationships with administrators 4. Demonstrates positive interpersonal relationships with parents and community members.

Professional Responsibilities

  • Implements policies and procedures of program
  • Participates in professional growth activities
  • Demonstrates a sense of professional responsibility


TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Year round employment, pay is negotiated based on experience

EVALUATION:

The Elementary Principal and Superintendent of Schools will evaluate performance of this position annually.
