Position Title: After School Program Assistant @ Ulloa Elementary School

We are currently seeking committed and passionate Program Assistant to support Program Leaders with academic, and physical activities at Ulloa Elementary School. Program Assistants must be able to work with up to 20 youths during camp hours Monday through Friday.

Benefits:

• Pay: $21/hour (depending on experience)
• Stepping stone into a career in education and returning for the summer 2023 program
• Schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Friday; 3:00pm- 6:30pm, Wednesday; 2:00pm - 6:30pm, Thursday; 3:00pm-7:00pm

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must have an Associate Degree or higher, or 48 or more college units, or pass the Instructional Aide exam
• Commitment to a full academic school year
• Must have experience working with youth with knowledge of core elementary and middle school subjects
• Must maintain confidentiality and demonstrate a high degree of integrity
• Must possess strong classroom and behavioral management skills
• Must pass a criminal background check and TB test clearance

Responsibilities (K-5):

• Support Program Staff and cover planned academic skill-building activities based on student's skill levels and state educational standards
• Follow and facilitate engaging lesson plans and enrichment and physical activities for students using learning targets and instructional strategies when covering classes
• Support students in developing the skills they need to be successful in school and life
• Actively supervise and ensure student safety at all times
• Communicate any student updates/needs to staff/supervisors
• Maintain accurate attendance records and reporting procedure
