Job Summary


The Admissions Recruiter / Counselor position is responsible for prospect generation, follow up and yield efforts within specific territories to meet enrollment goals of Clayton State University. This position is telework eligible at the manager's discretion and telework guidelines apply.

Responsibilities


  • Recruits prospective students to the university through attendance at college fairs, visits to high schools, and on campus programs; conducts presentations; manages relationships with prospective students, parents, and school counselors.
  • Intensive travel throughout the state of Georgia. Some overnight and out of state travel may be required.
  • Provides in office admissions counseling; meets with prospective students; initiates appropriate and effective follow-up communication to prospective students.
  • Reviews and evaluates applications during off-peak recruiting periods.
  • Assists with campus tours, on campus programs, and the planning and implementing of on and off campus recruitment events.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Valid driver's license

  • Ability to engage and interact tactfully with potential recruits from diverse backgrounds
  • Ability to establish long, enduring, and professional admissions recruitment relationships with schools in the recruiting effort
  • Ability to function as a team player with other members of the Office of Recruitment and Admissions
  • Must be able to convey enthusiasm, energy and poise
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Must be willing to work some evenings and weekends
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Effective presentation and organizational skills; effective interpersonal skills
