Position Summary:

Taft High School is the largest neighborhood school in Chicago Public Schools, serving 4,300+ students in Grades 7-12. The Taft Admissions Director is responsible for supporting all aspects of the Taft Admissions Program for students entering Grades 7-12; networking and supporting Taft’s 20 CPS feeder schools and other neighborhood private/parochial school students and parents through fairs, presentations, and other events; assisting in the execution of various admissions events at Taft High School, including Open House; office support in mailings, data entry, and other tasks as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree required.
• Experience working in a high functioning, fast-paced organization.
• Student admissions, staff recruitment, or sales experience.
• Strong networking and cultivation skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
• Project management experience and evidence of strong attention to detail.
• Ability to build relationships and work with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
• Customer service oriented.
• Proficient with the Google Platform (Drive, Docs, Sheets, etc.).
• Quick learner, goal-oriented, strong organizational skills.
• Driver’s license and access to a vehicle required to attend admissions-specific events at Taft feeder schools.
• Some evening and weekend work required.

Responsibilities - The Students Admissions Director will:

• Manage the operational, technical, and strategic functions essential to supporting the families of Taft’s 20+ CPS feeder schools and other neighborhood private/parochial schools.
• Support Taft community members in all Aspects of the GoCPS application and enrollment process.
• Design and implement strategies to support prospective students and families and meet campus enrollment such as but not limited to: planning events, elementary school visits and presentations, tabling at community events, and creating marketing and outreach campaigns.
• Support Taft’s community by operating with a robust understanding of the local enrollment landscape, policy, and procedures.
• Mobilize and invest current students, parents, and alumni to support student recruitment efforts on campus and in our community.
• Cultivate relationships with community based organizations and other partners to execute effective recruitment campaigns and serve as the official brand ambassador for Taft High School.
• Communicate effectively with diverse audiences to deliver a compelling vision of Taft High School.
• Knowledge of CPS admissions policies for neighborhood and select enrollment schools
• Support with additional student engagement and supervision as needed throughout the school year.
