What You Will Do as an Admissions Coordinator

As an Admissions Coordinator, you will be responsible for providing support to the Admissions Director with the admissions process and the marketing program. You will assist in maintaining a positive relationship with hospitals, doctors’ offices, nursing homes, and other related health care providers through caring communication and a strong focus on customer service. Some of your primary responsibilities include:

  • Completing submissions of Daily Census, Bedboard, and Pending Reports accurately and timely
  • Updating the referral tracking list to reflect daily referrals
  • Updating the admission tracking list to reflect accurate admission information
  • Ensuring Admission Packets are submitted appropriately to the Patient Liaison
  • Monitoring the dashboard and updating it with confirmed and/or potential admissions
  • Reviewing Admission Packets for completion after receiving from the Patient Liaison
  • Ensuring a positive admissions experience for patients and families
  • Assisting to maintain census goals, updated bed availability, and center services information by working with the center’s interdisciplinary team as appropriate
  • Compiling and distributing admission papers which includes communicating the admission criteria to referral sources, patients, and families
  • Meeting with families and patients to assist with accurate completion of Medicaid applications and LTC

Education, Licensure & Certification Requirements

  • Minimum of one (1) year of admissions experience in a healthcare setting
