TO: All ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANTS BROCKTON PUBLIC SCHOOLS FROM: Dr. Kathleen F. Moran,Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources SUBJECT: ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT VACANCY According to the terms of the contract, the following position is being advertised: SPECIAL EDUCATION OFFICE CENTRAL ADMINISTRATION12 MONTHS - SCHEDULE 5QUALIFICATIONS: ?Ability to communicate in a courteous, efficient, professional manner.?Ability to meet timelines and complete assignments in an organized manner.?Excellent office skills, with the ability to demonstrate competent computer processing skills.?Possess outstanding written, communication and interpersonal skills. ?Possess knowledge of various computer software programs (Excel, Word, Infinite Campus, MUNIS).

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: ?Provide operational support and technical assistance using a data base system to ensure compliance for students with disabilities for out of district students. ?Knowledge of Infinite Campus and Easy IEP; or possess the aptitude to learn. ?Organize student folders; maintain reports and student class lists. ?Coordinate various activities with OOD Coordinator and Director of Special Education concerning the IEP process.?Generate and manage OOD contract between LEA and OOD programs for students attending 12-month programs.?Generate and manage OOD contract between LEA and OOD programs for students attending school year and ESY programs.?Generate and manage SWD from other districts attending the Therapeutic Day School.?Manage and maintain SWD in lock up.?Coordinate IEP meetings with parent, liaison, and all outside agencies.?OOD transportation back up.?Maintain and input OOD student attendance in Infinite Campus?Arrange evaluations for OOD students requiring testing.?Work collaboratively with AA handling finance to ensure SWD in the OOD placements attendance and tuitions match.?Create and maintain spreadsheets for OOD students?Manage caseload for Therapeutic Day School.?Communicate effectively with schools, parents and community agencies.

?Perform other related duties as assigned by the Director and Assistant Director of Special Education. PLEASE NOTE: Brockton residency must be established within one year of initial employment.
