About us

Sunnyside is a not-for-profit Senior Living life plan community situated on 150 acres in the rolling hills of the Shenandoah Valley in Harrisonburg, Virginia. More than 500 residents call Sunnyside home. Residents have access to an array of services and amenities with the assurance of increased medical support for when and if they should need it.

Sunnyside's Assisted Living has the capacity for approximately 90 residents which includes a memory support neighborhood. We are seeking an experienced, highly-motivated Administrative Assistant to help support Assisted Living residents and team members. This full-time position helps maintain the schedule for team members as well as schedules for resident's appointments. The hours for this position are Monday-Friday, 8AM-4:30PM. No on-call and no weekends!

  • Creativity- Working with creating schedules requires an open-mind and the ability to think through a variety of scenarios.
  • Flexibility- Each day is going to look a little different. If that makes you nervous, this position may not be for you. To make a successful schedule for team members and residents, adaptability and flexibility are vital.
  • Communication skills- In this role, communication is key, both verbal and written. With the potential for a fast-paced environment, this position coordinates with residents, team members, Doctor's offices, family members and other Sunnyside departments to successfully meet the scheduling needs of Assisted Living.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • Medical office knowledge and/or experience is preferred but not required.
  • Must be able to follow strict HIPAA guidelines and maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Must have appropriate phone etiquette.
  • The ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks as needed.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $24.00 per hour
