Position Summary
Provides general administrative support, while exercising discretion, to the administrator of a department or division of the institution or to the administrator of multiple institution programs, services, and activities. This position oversees the Disability Resource Testing Center and Assistive Technology Services, as well as overseeing 4-5 student staff.

Responsibilities
Office and Administrative Duties
  • Schedules logistics and secures resources for meetings, conferences, travel, and work unit operations.
  • Serves as a primary point of contact for individuals and groups, and provides organizational information via phone, in person, and through other communication mediums.
  • Prepares and audits complex records, edits documents, and reviews work done by others
  • Develops, sends, receives, copies, and distributes communications to the appropriate entities according to established policies and procedures.
  • Develops, implements, and maintains methods and organizational systems directed at the maintenance of electronic/physical records related to work operations according to established policies and procedures.


Alternative Testing Coordination
  • Serves as the primary staff coordinating all accommodated testing accommodations for students.
  • Trains staff on test proctoring rules and AIM test coordination software.
  • Reserves and prepares testing locations.
  • Directs the flow of essential communications between the office, faculty, and accommodated students including documenting important details as necessary.
  • Ensures integrity in the testing process to ensure that tests are conducted under the circumstances instructors have specified.
  • Coordinates safe test transport plans.
  • Schedules the test monitoring staff.
  • Arranges any necessary technological aids.

Accessible Technology Coordination
  • Creates all electronic audiobooks using Kurzweil software as well as all e-book requests.
  • Manages all audiobook student profiles as well as monitoring and maintains semester logs of all requests and student usage.
  • Collaborates with Textbook Services staff to obtain needed textbooks to be made accessible.
  • Installs and monitors the following office technologies: Speech-to-Text, Text-to-Speech, FM Systems, Media Captioning Software, etc.).
  • Assists with assistive technology training for accommodated students.
  • Assists in evaluating current trends and markets in the area of assistive technology.
  • Assists with coordinating student notetaking accommodations.

Other Activities
  • Assists with semester reporting and yearly survey distribution.
  • Assists with developing marketing materials and brochures.
  • Participates in divisional and institution-wide initiatives to advance opportunities for disabled students to be equitably represented in the student population, be retained, and graduate from undergraduate and graduate programs
