The Administrative Assistant provides clerical and administrative support to the staff of UCI Health Weight Management Program. The incumbent manages the daily operations of the business office which includes greeting patients upon arrival, collection of demographic and financial information, including verification of patient insurance and entering data into electronic health records and University financial applications. The AA is responsible for recording of financial transactions, billing insurance, verifying payment received and reconciling of patient accounts. The AA assists with marketing duties for the Weight Management Program by answering telephone inquiries, scheduling prospective patients for information sessions, mailing literature to prospective patients. Responsible for the operation and maintenance of computer software and office equipment. Maintains inventory of office supplies, including meal replacement products.
Compensation Range:
$24.66 - $28.94
Required:
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and patients Must have experience in a customer- service oriented environment, preferably a medical office Good punctuality and attendance.
  • Must have experience in insurance verification and billing Must be able to provide outstanding customer service Skilled with handling money and accurately input data Highly proficient in the use of computers and common applications such as Microsoft Word and Excel Ability to exercise appropriate professional behavior in all situations and circumstances.
  • Ability to maintain flexibility and work well in a constantly changing environment
  • Must have outstanding oral and written communication skills, including telephone and email.
  • Ability to perform general accounting practices of the University of California. Skills to organize tasks, prioritize and complete assignments in a timely manner.
  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude and contribute both as an individual and a team member to achieve the goals of the department.
Preferred:
  • Experience with UC/UC Irvine policies and procedures especially in the areas of accounting and purchasing.
  • Experience with UC/UC Irvine on-line systems including KFS
