Position Description & Details

The administrative assistant is an important part of the department team. The person in the position provides administrative support to the department chair and faculty through duties such as assisting students, managing the department budget, maintaining our inventory of supplies and psychological testing materials, organizing and maintaining department records, scheduling appointments and meetings, assisting with reports, and other tasks necessary to maintain the functioning of the department.

Required Competencies

Required 1) an associate degree or experience equal to an associate degree 2) proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. 3) Good written and verbal communication skills 4) excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work with a wide variety of people 5) good organizational skills and attention to details.

Preferred: one to two years professional experience as an administrative assistant or similar role.

About Us

ASPSW Department provides undergraduate and graduate education. There are four programs in the department: Addiction Studies (BS), Psychology (BA), Social Work (BSW), and School Psychology (Education Specialist). In addition to offering our programs in Minot, we offer programs in Bismarck and Fargo. The department has thirteen full-time faculty positions and serves approximately 300 students.
