Position Summary: Conduct specific activities, programs and events involving resident participation. Assist Life Enrichment Coordinator with assigned tasks. Encourage resident participation in planned programming.

Qualifications:

1. Must be 18 years of age.

2. Able to interact effectively with residents, families and staff.

3. Dresses and behaves in professional manner.

4. Exceptionally dependable and reliable.

5. Able to work autonomously and as a member of a team

6. Able to work flexible schedule to best meet the needs of the residents.

Basic Objectives and Responsibilities:

1. Lead residents in group activities.

2. Encourage and assist residents to participate in scheduled programming.

3. Participate in monthly formulation of the basic activity calendar.

4. Assist in planning and problem solving as part of Life Enrichment team.

5. Perform other duties as assigned by Life Enrichment Coordinator and/or other management staff.

Physical Requirements:

1. Able to lift 50 lb., alone or as part of a two person assist.

2. Able to read small print and handwriting.

3. Able to speak and hear so as to communicate with residents, families and staff over the telephone and in person.

4. Cognitively able to reason and problem solve complex issues.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS - Life Enrichment Assistant

1. Assist with special activities such as church services, weekly bible studies, holiday programs, bingo games, outings and other scheduled Life Enrichment programming.

2. Coordinate and conduct monthly birthday parties for residents in each building.

3. Contribute ideas, assist in planning and problem solving as part of Life Enrichment team.

4. Participate in development of activity calendar for each month.

5. Develop and coordinate new program ideas.

6. Assist residents to and from activities as necessary. Actively encourage their participation in scheduled events and activities.

7. Assist with off-campus activities for residents.

8. Assist volunteers in their work with residents.

9. Document and assist with activity assignments in assigned buildings.

10. Inventory and supply activity materials as assigned. Coordinate additional supply needs with Life Enrichment Coordinator.

11. Assist with activities of daily living when appropriate. Utilize appropriate support from nursing staff as necessary to accomplish this.

12. Attend mandatory staff meetings and in services.

13. Interact professionally and courteously with resident, families, staff and visitors.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: From $15.00 per hour
