ACH/Wire Specialist
General Summary
ACH/Wire Specialist has the responsibility for the high risk and critical daily operations of the ACH, inclearing, and wire transfer processing. The ACH/Wire Specialist is responsible for ensuring compliance with internal controls, operating procedures, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities
- Ensure that all critical functions related to ACH and wire transfers are processed in adherence to internal policies, procedures, regulatory requirements including NACHA Operating Rules and Guidelines.
- Ensure that all functions related to inclearing and return deposit items are processed in adherence to internal policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
- Review and adhere to Credit Union policies and procedures
- Support the Courtesy Overdraft program.
- Adheres to operational controls including applicable laws, rules, and regulations impacting ACH services and policies such as the Bank Secrecy Act, OFAC, NACHA Rules, Regulation E and Universal Commercial Code to ensure safety and soundness.
- Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; works with other departments to solve complex issues.
- Builds and maintains internal relationships throughout the Credit Union by providing exceptional member service; models excellent internal and external member service.
- Assist management with audits, risk assessments, policies, procedures, and processes.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Must understand and comply with all required federal and state regulations associated with this position.
- Must be able to speak and understand fluent English.
Requirements: Must have a high school diploma or GED; 2+ years of credit union or banking experience. Preferred AAP or NCP accreditation. Ability to work independently and use sound judgement to make decisions in line with company goals. Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
