Job Summary
The Accounts Receivable Specialist is part of the Credit and Collections team ensures the timely resolution of past due accounts receivable to increase revenue and limit losses. This position will administer a designated collection portfolio of business-to-business customers. The Collection Specialist must have the ability to prioritize, troubleshoot, and work closely with other team members to identify, resolve, and share information regarding paying trends and guideline updates.

Requirements:
What You Will Do:

• Contact customers regarding invoices/accounts which are past due. Providing information as requested by the customer to facilitate a quick remittance. Obtain payment arrangements.

• Research and reconcile deduction/chargeback disputes, discrepancies, and short payments in a timely manner.
• Analyze disputes from current and past incidents to understand the root cause and develop and implement solutions to minimize and prevent future occurrences.
• Provide back up to the Deduction Analyst to process discrepancies pertaining to pricing, allowances, discounts, damages, shortages, and RMA claims.
• Develop and maintain rapport with a variety of internal and external customers ensuring the highest level of customer service through relationship building.
• Perform other duties as needed and as assigned by Credit Manager.

What You Will Have:

• Minimum 2-3 years collections/AR experience required; in lieu of experience college degree will be considered
• Ability to communicate clearly and professionally, both verbal and written
• Strong interpersonal, organizational and follow-through skills
• Strong problem solving, decision making, and analytical abilities
• Strong communication skills required to deal professionally with customers on delicate situations/resolving issues
• Strong teamwork skills with ability to establish and maintain positive and effective working relationships
• Ability to learn new ERP systems quickly. Knowledge of Lawson, Excel, Word, and Outlook.
