Accounts Receivable Collections Specialist

The Accounts Receivable Collection Specialist is responsible for collections of outstanding accounts receivable dollars from the existing client base and all other aspects of collections, resolving customer billing problems, and reducing accounts receivable delinquency. This position will report to the AR and Collections Manager.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Reviewing open accounts for collection efforts.
  • Collecting payments for a company using skills in project management, organization, and communications to collect the payments from clients and customers.
  • Identifying issues attributing to account delinquency and discusses them with management.
  • Professionally handles all customer service inquiries (phoned-in and emailed credit card payments, and invoice questions) in a timely manner.
  • Prepare cash and check payments for bank, totaling, and recording deposit amounts and depositing payments via financial software.
  • Using accounting software to generate accounts receivable and “cash on delivery” (COD) reports.
  • Manipulate reporting using excel to apply customer auto payments effectively and efficiently.
  • Creating check, ACH, and credit card batches daily.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of an associate degree in accounting or business is preferred.
  • Accounts Receivable knowledge/experience a plus.
  • General math skills and the understanding of accounting practices and principles.
  • Basic computer skills and the ability to create complex spreadsheets and reports.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (e.g., Outlook, Excel and Word).
  • Experience with Adobe PDF, CyberSource, and accounting software preferred.
  • Strong communication, problem solving, and analytical skills required.
  • Must possess proficient ability to communicate in English in oral and written format.
  • High degree of attention to detail and confidentiality.
  • Excellent time managing skills with the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and to adapt to a fast-changing environment.

Pay: $25.00 - $32.00 per hour
