Our construction client in Detroit (W. Grand Blvd/Lodge Fwy) needs to hire an ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE SPECIALIST to provide support

POSITION TYPE: Full Time, DirectHire, In Office

PAY: $21.00 to $24.00 per hour (depending on education and years of experience)

SCOPE: Assist a busy company taking on Accounts Receivable responsibilities (Billing, Invoice pre-authorizations) and performing general accounting activities

Requirements of the Accounts Receivable Specialist:

• Degree nice to have, not required.
• 3 or more years of accounting work experience that includes strong billing skills required.
• Analytical mind a person enjoys working with numbers.
• Familiarity with AIA and sworn statements or construction industry a major plus.
• Ability to create, analyze and post journal entries a major plus.
• Software skills with an ERP system (Such as Sage, Dynamics, SAP, JDE, etc) required.
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.

Duties of the Accounts Receivabe Specialist:

• Gain understanding of current constructions projects.
• Generate detailed AIA billing for services provided.
• Put together and submit backup documentation (Pictures, permits, notifications, etc.) showing work completion and submit to customers (DTE, Municipalities, City of Detroit) for invoice preauthorization and payment. Provide missing documents as requested.
• Produce reports as requested
• Provide support for moth end close accounting activities.

• Assist in reconciling accounts and posting payments.
