For individuals assigned or hired to work in Jersey City, New York City, and/ or Westchester County, the base salary range is $61,500 to $79,900 as of the time of posting. Position is incentive eligible.
Total individual compensation (base salary, short & long-term incentives) offered will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to geographic location, scope & responsibilities of the role, qualifications, talent availability & specialization as well as business needs. The above range may be modified in the future.
We are seeking a detail oriented and analytical Accounts Payable (AP) Specialists to join the AP Team in Jersey City, NJ!
As a valued member of our shared services team, you will be accountable for the timely turnaround of various disbursements. In this role, you will have the opportunity to gain experience in running payment cycles, reconciliation, and reporting.
This position is required to be onsite for training the first 2 weeks of employment. The onsite requirement thereafter will be 3x/week (days are flexible).
Job Responsibilities:
- Audit and review daily payable requests for accuracy and proper documentation
- Assist in SOX compliance by serving as key resource for pulling needed documentation and participating in walk-through sessions
- Validate and approve new vendor setups (EFT Banking Info)
- Run payment cycles (Checks, Wires, ACHs, etc.)
- Handle queries from internal and external customers
- Research outstanding and stale checks for escheatment
- Run Daily Reconciliation Reports
- Assist with quarter close deliverables
- Additional responsibilities to assist management in Accounting Operations related to T&E, ERP project and future enhancements as well as upgrade testing
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Accounts Payable preferably in an insurance industry
- Knowledge of Great Plains or Accounting ERP, a plus
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Effective time management and problem solving skills
- Work well individually and as part of a team
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business or related field
