Position Summary:

We are looking for an Accounting Manager to join our accounting team and provide support to the Controller & CFO by managing daily accounting tasks. You must be a driven and flexible person who is willing to perform a variety of tasks as needed and ideally a quick learner. You must have the desire to work in a fast-paced and supportive team environment that contributes to the overall efficient operation of the accounting department. This role will be a key resource in supporting the Corporate Financial Controller’s organization in evaluating non-routine transactions and researching, documenting, and communicating accounting implications to the business for both external reporting and management accounting

Hybrid Role*** 3 days in office/2 days remote

Essential Duties/Tasks/Responsibilities:

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the implementation of new accounting standards issued from the FASB, EITF, SEC, and other accounting standard setters
  • Provide technical accounting support for business unit finance management and other corporate functions
  • Establishes workflows and assigns duties for effective and efficient completion of tasks.
  • Implements process and procedural improvements to streamline work and increase productivity.
  • Acts as liaison to internal and external auditors by explaining journal entries and financial transactions, providing research data and information as requested, and answering questions necessary to complete the audit in a timely manner.
  • Ability to teach/train employees on new process improvements.
  • Compile Corporate Accounting policies
  • Perform technical accounting research on a wide variety of business transactions and document conclusions in accounting position papers
  • Special projects – This role will participate in the team’s technical accounting evaluation of Corporate initiated non-routine transactions (e.g., financing transactions, acquisitions)
  • Manage, streamline, and ensure processes, procedures and directives for the accounting department adhered to; facilitate problem solving; and keep communication lines open between responsible parties with minimal direction.
  • Prepare, examine, or analyze accounting records, financial statements, or other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards.
  • Prepare adjusting journal entries.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance is a must
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in accounting and/or auditing working for a public accounting firm or a publicly held entity.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central software preferred
  • Complex understanding of GAAP
  • Ability to work independently and to communicate effectively both orally and via written reports and analysis.
  • Prior experience with multiple entities desired.
  • Able to read and understand complex and/or unusual transactions/contracts and identify issues, conduct research, and draft technical memos
  • Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Intermediate experience in Excel required.

Requires the ability to interact with others, interpret spoken messages and utilize reason to resolve complex problems. Requires prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Lifting and carrying of 1-10 pounds (occasional up to 25#).

Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
