Perform accounting functions needed to provide accurate and timely reporting. Enter and record journal entries and prepare schedules to close monthly reporting cycles. Process company payroll.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Independently prepare and post journal entries into the ABILA accounting system including bi-weekly payroll, expense allocations, cash receipts, revenues, adjusting journal entries.
  • Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations for various accounts.
  • Reconcile credit card activity and upload into accounting system.
  • Maintain Microix user database, including deleting and adding new users to system and ensuring they are assigned to the proper workflows.
  • Research and work with vendors to resolve invoice discrepancies and past due balances; maintain accounts current
  • Set up and maintain vendors/customers in Abila
  • Enter/upload payables into Microix; transmit all requests to Abila/MIP accounting software; prepare and process check runs
  • Maintain an organized electronic accounts payable filing system (including vendor contracts/agreements) as well as an electronic filing system for payroll files
  • Review timecards and resolve discrepancies in preparation of payroll processing
  • Process bi-weekly (or emergency) payroll, review allocations and create/run reports as needed
  • Work with ADP Customer Service to resolve issues and/or to research information relating to payroll processing
  • Issue annual 1099 information to vendors and Federal / State agencies
  • Assist with annual audit, including provision of supporting documentation.
  • Prepare and enter any entries needed at month and year end including depreciation, vacation accrual and payroll accruals.
  • Assist Grants Manager whenever needed. Duties could include preparing monthly variance reports for program staff, assisting with budget preparation in Microix and assisting with budget modification process for all grants.
  • Handle other ad hoc assignments as requested.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
  • Minimum 3 years of general ledger accounting experience.
  • Working knowledge of ADP Workforce Now.
  • Familiarity with non-profit accounting principles.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work under deadlines and prioritize competing assignments.
  • Self-starter who is proactive and can work independently.
  • Computer proficiency in MS Office and accounting software.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
