Ensure the proper accounting and financial reporting for the acquisition, construction, lease and disposition of the TWDC fixed assets in compliance with State, Federal and Corporate guidelines.

This position is on average responsible assisting with monitoring depreciation for Tax Regulations and Disney Corporate Policy of $2B+ a year spending performed by Legal Entities across US. The analysis performed by this position has a direct impact on the tax deductions performed by Corporate Tax.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare Extension & Return related to fixed assets. Document processes, preparing & calculating complex workpaper, ensure accuracy, and work with other teams to gather further justification on tax treatment. Additionally, make journal entries and populate income tax depreciation and gain/loss forms on the return.

  • Analyze and prepare the quarterly Tax Forecast – Depreciation. Additionally, prepare variance analysis and perform depreciation calculations for forecast purposes. Run workflow in Alteryx, Analyze output, determine tax treatment, review, and prepare explanation of change. Later, make journal entries.

  • Prepare and perform Deferred Tax reconciliation. This is a highly complex workpaper which requires several coordination with other teams as well as research and analysis is required to complete the work.

  • Support Corporate Tax (Int’l) team with any requests related to International assets. Providing Alternative Depreciation System reports as well as pulling Hong Kong Disneyland and Shanghai Disney resort depreciation schedules. Additionally, pull Lucas international depreciation reports.

  • Review & Analyze Fixed Assets capitalized to ensure appropriate Depreciation Method is utilized. Due to multiple law changes, studies from external partners we are to ensure the appropriate tax useful life and method of depreciation is utilized.

  • Participate in meetings with management to address accounting/company policy guidance

  • Understand technical aspects of depreciation and assets to determine if it is depreciated accordingly.

  • Assist with internal controls associated with Tax coding. Perform complex internal control for luxury vehicles. As well as communicate and coordinate with others to finish their assigned controls.

  • Respond to customer inquiries in a timely manner.

Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year accounting experience, or internship experience preferred

  • Demonstrated ability on MS Excel Functions and Formulas

  • General knowledge of construction projects

Preferred Qualifications

  • SAP knowledge

  • Tax Driver knowledge

  • Knowledge on MACRS recovery periods and methods

  • CPA license preferred

Required Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration
