We're looking for a qualified Accounting Assistant to play a crucial supporting role within the Accounting Department. The role will be responsible for the accounting duties of specializing in CAM billings and Accounts Receivable for real estate properties. This will include working with managers and accountants in setting up analysis files, researching balances, application of payments and various month-end close procedures.
The most successful people will have previous experience working in property accounting, be able to work with minimal supervision, have strong analytical and organizational skill. This role will report directly to an Accounting Manager. They will work in an integrated and collaborative manner with members of the Accounting and Property Management Departments.
Accounting Assistant Responsibilities:
- Perform property management accounting duties on a timely basis. Such accounting duties include, but are not limited to assisting managers and accountants, accounts receivable processing and CAM administrative functions.
- Interface and coordinate with accounting department and other in-house personnel to facilitate the property management process. Examples would include, but are not limited to, timely entry of tenant receivables, cumulating data and setting up templates, researching balances, correspondences, tenant and audit requests, ad-hoc requests, etc.
- Assist in account reconciliations, lease review, CAM billing processing and tenant / property management requests
- Data entry, processing, application and review for remitted accounts receivables.
- Work with property management, accountants, managers and controller to meet reporting deadlines.
Accounting Assistant Qualifications:
- Experience in general accounting principles, property accounting and AR/AP
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Excellent analytical, time management and organization skills
- Team player
- Intermediate knowledge in MS Office applications, such as Excel, Word and Outlook
- Yardi experience preferred but not required
- Must be located in Southern California
